I think I am recreating nature to another nature through the process of firing substances such as stones and ash. In this process, I am aiming to seek out unexpected beauty of the phenomenon itself.

To bring out attractive glaze reaction, I try various firing methods and shaping (including angles, asperities, roundness, edge and thickness), focusing on steepness and gentleness, strength and weakness, and light and dark, so that all elements harmonize with each other.

Then, when it turns into a piece of pottery, I put my inner scenery into it. Sparkling morning dewdrops, mountaintops in the dawn, diffusion of light       – pottery is poetry.
